The Daily Express and others ran a story Wednesday that pinned the blame for the non-release of the "Let It Be" DVD to Paul and Ringo. We had our doubts about this story and said so in our coverage at http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/725letitbeagain.html. Abbeyrd's Beatles Page sent out several emails to people who should know about the situation and received this word back exclusively from a spokesperson from Apple: "We do have plans to release it some time in the future." Just thought you'd like to know.

Saw Ringo's show at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA., last night. Some quick notes (we're writing a longer review for the site):
1) Any criticism that Ringo doesn't add new songs wasn't borne out by the set list last night. There were songs from "Liverpool 8," "Choose Love" and "Ringo Rama," in addition to the usual Beatle songs.
2) The show was opened by a comedian doing Costco jokes. Yes, I'm serious. Yes, he was awful.
3) The lineup may not look like a good one, but they work darned well together, especially late in the set.

Just got a call from my good friends, Mary Ann and Marie, who went to Billy Joel's final concert at Shea Stadium, the last concert that will ever be held. And guess who made a guest appearance?? Paul was there!! He sang "I Saw Her Standing There" towards the end of the show, and talked about the excitement of when he was there, all those years ago. Then he left the stage while Billy sang "Piano Man." Afterwhich, Billy said, "Ladies and gentlemen, Sir Paul McCartney!" And Paul sang "Let It Be," the last song that will ever be sung in concert at Shea Stadium! Is that incredible or what?? Also Billy wore Ringo's sheriff's badge from 1965 ... not sure how he came to be in possession of it, but what a nice touch!
