    BREAKING NEWS: Paul and Ringo both nominated for Grammy Awards

    Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are both among the nominees for the 51st Grammy Awards announced Wednesday night. Paul McCartney was nominated in two categories -- for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance with a live version of "That Was Me"and for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for a live version of "I Saw Her Standing There," both from the "Amoeba's Secret" four-track live vinyl-only recording of his Amoeba Records concert. Ringo's "Ringo 5.1 The Surround Sound Collection" was among six nominees for "Best Surround Sound Album." More details in Thursday's Beatle news updates. The 51st Annual Grammy Awards will be held Feb. 8, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will broadcast on CBS.

    Breaking news: Grammy Award Beatle winners list as of 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday -- CONTAINS SPOILERS!

    According to the Grammy Awards page, the Beatles won the Grammy for Best Surround Album for "Love." Paul was completely shut out of his three nominations, losing Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance to Bruce Springsteen, Best Male Rock Vocal to Justin Timberlake and Best Pop Vocal Album to Amy Winehouse. "Icky Thrump" by the White Stripes beat out both U2's "Instant Karma" and Green Day's "Working Class Hero" in the Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals. Still to come: Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media where "Love" and "Across the Universe" are up against "Hairspray," "Dreamgirls" and "Once."
