Brtish tabloid report says terorrists have issued a threat against Paul McCartney over Israel concert
The British tabloid Sunday Express -- not the most accurate source -- has a story headlined "Sir Paul: Terror target." It claims Palestinian terrorist Omar Bakri has threatened Paul McCartney's life if he plays Israel as promised. As previously reported, Paul has said he plans to play the show. “I was approached by different groups and political bodies who asked me not to come here. I refused. I do what I think and I have many friends who support Israel," he is quoted by the paper. A McCartney spokesman also said, “Paul’s Friendship First concert is about his music. Paul’s is a message of peace.” It should be noted the story has not been picked up by any credible news sources that we could find, though several right-wing blogs have picked up the Sunday Express version. So far, though, only the Sunday Express has the story. Which is a good reason not to believe it. Update II (9/14/08)
