Capitol announces Lennon "Acoustic", "Rock 'n' Roll" reissues

On Thursday, Capitol officially announced a Nov. 2 release date for the Lennon "Acoustic" and "Rock 'n' Roll" discs we've reported previously. Billboard.com reports seven of the "Acoustic" tracks -- "Well Well Well," "God," "My Mummy's Dead," "Cold Turkey," "What You Got," "Dear Yoko" and "Real Love" -- are previously unreleased. "Rock n' Roll" will also have four bonus tracks -- "Angel Baby" and "To Know Her Is To Love Her" from "Menlove Avenue," and alternate versions of "Since My Baby Left Me" and "Just Because," the latter featuying a Christmas message to Paul, George and Ringo.

Stella McCartney signs sportswear deal

Stella McCartney has inked a deal with Adidas to create a line of sportswear, reports the Associated Press. The new line, "Adidas by Stella McCartney," will feature clothes and shoes for running, the gym and swimming. The first collection will hit stores in Feb. with prices ranging from $48 to $243.

Rumors confirmed: Paul to play Bridge Concert

Sources today confirmed Paul will indeed play this year's Bridge School benefit in Mountain View, CA. 5 p.m. Oct. 23 and 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at Shoreline Amphitheater. Tickets, which go on sale at 10 a.m. Sunday, are $38.75 for lawn and $55.75 for seats.

Alistair Taylor -- Brian's Epstein's "Mr. Fixit," has died

A note from Martin Lewis:

Someone who worked with the Beatles for several years suddenly passed away this morning

Alistair Taylor - who was Brian Epstein's personal assistant and subsequently General Manager of Apple.

He was an integral part of the Beatles/NEMS/Apple structure from December 1961 till late 1969.

To the best of my knowledge - all of the Beatles had quite an affection for Alistair.

Alistair remained very faithful to the Beatles. Wrote two or three memoirs. Always affectionate. Never said or published a negative word.

He was taken to a hospital early this morning - suffering from shortness of breath. Exact cause of death not yet known.

He was 68 or 69. He is survived by his wife Lesley. Alistair and Lesley did not have children.
